Basketball Recap: Kansas City Christian School Takes a Loss

If Kansas City Christian School was riding high fresh off their 72-19 takedown of Central Heights last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kansas City Christian School Panthers fell 65-53 to the Iola Mustangs on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Cortland Carson had an outrageously good game for Iola as he went 10 for 25 on his way to 28 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Carson has scored at least a third of Iola's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Beckmon, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Kansas City Christian School now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Iola, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Kansas City Christian School will venture away from home to take on Heritage Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on December 20th. Heritage Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Kansas City Christian School surely won't give up without a fight. As for Iola, they will host Burlington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
