Basketball Recap: Carroll Has No Trouble Against Fort Wayne Northrop

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carroll walked away with it. They took down the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins 58-39 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Bruins back in February, they had to take a 48-42 loss.

It was another big night for Paxton Crane, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Middleton, who posted 11 points.

Carroll was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Northrop only eight assists.

Fort Wayne Northrop lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Donlaray Reese, who put up nine points and five steals. James Browning was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points and eight rebounds.

Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. Fort Wayne Northrop has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Carroll will square off against Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on March 15th. Homestead will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Carroll surely won't give up without a fight. Fort Wayne Northrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
