Volleyball Recap: William Smith Takes a Loss + How To Watch

William Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ascent Classical Academy Guardians, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Guardians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 6th.

While William Smith was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Ascent Classical Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-11, 25-13.

Ayla Cowdrey was the offensive standout of the match as she had 15 assists and three aces. Those 15 assists gave her a new career-high.

William Smith's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Ascent Classical Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
