Basketball Recap: Green Mountain Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rivendell Academy last Saturday, Green Mountain came back down to earth. The Green Mountain Chieftains came up short against the White River Valley Wildcats on Monday, falling 53-31. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-27 back in January.

Green Mountain has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for White River Valley, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Mountain will head out to face off against Woodstock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Green Mountain is facing Woodstock at the right time seeing as Woodstock is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for White River Valley, they will take on Leland & Gray at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
