Soccer Recap: Roncalli Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Roncalli had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Herron Achaeans as they made off with a 7-0 victory. Roncalli might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Herron from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lizzy Metzger led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The win was the third in a row for Roncalli, bringing their record up to 10-6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Herron, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Coming up, Roncalli will take on Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roncalli will need to watch out since Danville have now posted at least four goals in their last three matches. Herron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
