Basketball Game Preview: Gurdon Go-Devils vs. Poyen Indians

The Gurdon Go-Devils will take on the Poyen Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gurdon has struggled recently with 21 losses in a row, while Poyen will arrive with 14 straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Gurdon was beaten by Magnet Cove 56-28. While losing is never fun, the Go-Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Panthers are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poyen). They breezed by Hampton to the tune of 74-32 on Thursday. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 26 points or more this season.

Poyen's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.2 points. As for Gurdon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-21.
