Soccer Game Preview: Waterford-Halfmoon vs. Greenwich

The Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians are taking a road trip to challenge the Greenwich Witches at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Waterford-Halfmoon will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Saturday, then bounced right back against Hoosic Valley on Tuesday. The Fordians blew past the Hawks 7-1. Considering Waterford-Halfmoon have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Greenwich entered their tilt with Mechanicville on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Red Raiders.

Greenwich's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Waterford-Halfmoon was able to grind out a solid victory over Greenwich in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fordians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
