Basketball Game Preview: Lassen Grizzlies vs. Central Valley Falcons

Lassen is on a three-game streak of home losses, Central Valley a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Lassen Grizzlies will host the Central Valley Falcons. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Lassen lost to University Prep at home by a 77-63 margin. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1116th, while the Panthers are ranked 286th).

Meanwhile, Central Valley played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by University Prep 72-32. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.

Lassen's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Everything came up roses for Lassen against Central Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-37 win. Will Lassen repeat their success, or does Central Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
