Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Comes Up Short

Sweetwater was the 79-44 winner over Granite Hills when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Sweetwater Red Devils'2024 ended with a 60-45 defeat against the Granite Hills Eagles on Thursday.

Andre Dankha was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 boards for Granite Hills. The game was Dankha's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Lathan Fry was another key player, putting up eight points along with 20 boards and three blocks.

Sweetwater has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Granite Hills, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Sweetwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-44 win against Grossmont on the 27th. As for Granite Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-59 loss against Calipatria on the 27th.
