Volleyball Recap: BROOKE LAVELLE's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chatham Charter over Providence Grove

After flying high against Central Carolina Academy on Tuesday, Chatham Charter came back down to earth. The Knights came up short against the Providence Grove Patriots on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-15, 25-14.

Chatham Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was BROOKE LAVELLE, who had 14 assists and five digs.

Chatham Charter dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Providence Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Chatham Charter and Providence Grove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Knights will challenge Clover Garden School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (331 vs. 127). Meanwhile, Providence Grove (ranked 238th) will meet Asheboro (ranked 51st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
