Baseball Recap: Vernon Falls Short of Holmes County in the Playoffs

Vernon and Holmes County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Vernon had to settle for second. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Holmes County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holmes County, they will challenge Chipley at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
