Football Preview: Gilmer County Titans vs. South Harrison Hawks

After two games on the road, Gilmer County is heading back home. They will host the South Harrison Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gilmer County's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Wahama last Friday. They took a blow against the White Falcons, falling 63-0. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the White Falcons are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, South Harrison blew past Ravenswood, posting a 48-6 victory. Considering the Hawks have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

South Harrison found their leader in sophomore Jaden Hatfield, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hatfield's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 106 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Pedraza, who threw for 73 yards and two touchdowns.

South Harrison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ravenswood only rushed for 37.

South Harrison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Ross and Hatfield.

The win made it two in a row for South Harrison and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Gilmer County, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
