Softball Recap: Los Altos Find Success

Los Altos posted their closest victory since March 27th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Mountain View Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 on Tuesday.

Chloe Caldbeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Makayla Mase was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Neal, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Los Altos has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Los Altos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-3 win against Lincoln on the 13th. As for Mountain View, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-2 victory against Milpitas on the 13th.
