Football Recap: Mckinley Tech Takes Down Ranked Sidwell Friends + How To Watch

McKinley Tech faced Sidwell Friends in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trainers walked away with a 22-10 win over the Quakers.

McKinley Tech didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Zamir Walls. He has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times he's played. Another thorn in Sidwell Friends' side was Donald Bunch, who made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 12 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Chamaree Woodland, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory got McKinley Tech back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinley Tech will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Ireton at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sidwell Friends, they will head out to take on Saint John Paul the Great Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
