Basketball Game Preview: Lyons Lions vs. Moundridge Wildcats

Lyons hasn't had much luck against Moundridge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lyons Lions will square off against the Moundridge Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Lyons came up short against Hillsboro and fell 60-49.

Meanwhile, Moundridge came tearing into Tuesday's game with 12 straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Inman Teutons 66-30.

Moundridge pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Lyons, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lyons took a serious blow against Moundridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 64-36. Thankfully for Lyons, Kreighton Kanitz (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
