Baseball Recap: Denham Springs Comes Up Short

Denham Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dutchtown Griffins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 10-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Denham Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 20-6-1. As for Dutchtown, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

While Denham Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
