Basketball Recap: San Simon Comes Up Short

San Simon lost against Duncan back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The San Simon Longhorns took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Duncan Wildkats. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildkats 10-6 in the first quarter.

Isaiah Sumner was nothing short of spectacular for Duncan: he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. That's the most points Sumner has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Issac Harris, who posted four points and seven steals.

This is the second loss in a row for San Simon and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Duncan, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

San Simon will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Gregory School at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Duncan also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
