Preview: South Barber Chieftains vs. Argonia Red Raiders
South Barber is 8-0 against Argonia since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Barber Chieftains will be home for the holidays to greet the Argonia Red Raiders at 7:30 a.m. Argonia took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South Barber, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, South Barber beat South Haven 51-46.
Meanwhile, Argonia took a serious blow against Cunningham on Tuesday, falling 68-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Argonia in their matchups with Cunningham: they've now lost six in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Maddex Hemberger, who scored 12 points along with four steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Morrison, who scored 12 points.
South Barber now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Argonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
South Barber took their victory against Argonia when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 58-33. Does South Barber have another victory up their sleeve, or will Argonia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
