Baseball Recap: Widefield Takes a Loss

Widefield was the 4-1 winner over Sand Creek when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Widefield fell just short of Sand Creek by a score of 7-6 on Monday.

Ethan Braun was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Warren, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Widefield dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Sand Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Widefield will face off against Severance at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sand Creek, they will square off against Mesa Ridge at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
