Volleyball Recap: Calera Takes a Loss

Calera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Vestavia Hills Rebels. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Rebels when the teams met back in September of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Vestavia Hills to victory were Elle Hill and Lillie Hill. Elle had 11 assists, while Lillie had ten digs. That's the most assists Elle has posted over her last six games. Claire Ogden also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Calera's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Vestavia Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Calera will take on Pell City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Vestavia Hills, they are taking a road trip to square off against Springville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
