Baseball Recap: Granada Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Granada had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the San Ramon Valley Wolves by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. The Matadors haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Alex Piscotty tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Granada's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Richards, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Estevan Duarte, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Granada's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for San Ramon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.
