Basketball Game Preview: Shields Panthers vs. Southside Panthers

Shields just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shields comes in on six and Southside on four.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Tuesday. Shields was the clear victor by a 58-33 margin over Marengo. Given Shields' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Marengo is ranked 421st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Southside didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Selma on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 62-58 victory.

Shields' win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Southside, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

The rematch might be a little tougher for Shields since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
