Football Game Preview: Cedar Creek Eagles vs. Hendrickson Hawks + How To Watch

The Cedar Creek Eagles will take on the Hendrickson Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Cedar Creek put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Lehman. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Hendrickson can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They breezed past Lehman to the tune of 63-0. That 63 point margin sets a new team best for the Hawks this season.

Hendrickson found their leader in sophomore Chance Pearce, who threw for 226 yards and five TDs on only 15 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Pearce's passing game has become a key predictor of the Hawks' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-4 otherwise. Brayden Mueller did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 87 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hendrickson proved: they limited Lehman to a paltry one yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Khalil Stewart stood above the rest. He made five total tackles and snagged an interception which he returned for a touchdown. Hendrickson's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.4.

Hendrickson's defense didn't let Gunner Winiecki, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Zaybrien Brown and Caleb Davis, who each picked up one sack apiece. Jonathan Greene got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Cedar Creek's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Hendrickson, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
