Volleyball Recap: Eldorado Firehawks vs. Desert Pines Jaguars

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Legacy, Eldorado was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Desert Pines Jaguars by a score of 3-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Firehawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Eldorado walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18.

Desert Pines lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gabriela Mihaere, who had six aces and four blocks. That's the most aces Mihaere has posted since back in October of 2023. Another player making a difference was Desaray Davis, who had five kills, five blocks, and two aces.

Eldorado's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Desert Pines, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Eldorado has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Arbor View on the 18th. After both having extra time off, Desert Pines and Cimarron-Memorial will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
