Soccer Game Preview: Green Run vs. Cox

Green Run is 0-9 against Cox since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Stallions will head out to square off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Green Run will be strutting in after a victory while Cox will be coming in after a defeat.

Green Run is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Lake Taylor a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Green Run needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Their offense was hitting Lake Taylor from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Brooklyn Howard led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Cox came up short against First Colonial on Tuesday, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Cox were already down 4-0.

Green Run moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Cox, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Green Run might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Cox in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
