Knott County Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 56-44 victory over the Floyd Central Jaguars. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 75-72 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Floyd Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wesley Buck, who posted nine points and six rebounds. James Samons was another key player, putting up nine points.

The victory got Knott County Central back to even at 6-6. As for Floyd Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
