Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln-Way Central vs. Lockport

The Lincoln-Way Central Knights will challenge the Lockport Porters at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Lincoln-Way Central sitting on four straight wins and Lockport on seven.

Lincoln-Way Central barely beat Sandburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. Give Lincoln-Way Central's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Lockport gave up the first goal on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Lincoln-Way West by a score of 3-1. Given Lockport's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Lincoln-Way West are ranked 138th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebastian Gryglak and Christopher Huizar scored all three of Lockport's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Lockport's win bumped their record up to 11-2-2. As for Lincoln-Way Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
