Volleyball Recap: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Triumphs

Academy of Our Lady of Peace posted their closest win since September 13th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Christian Patriots 3-2. The Pilots haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-102), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 15-12.

Amanda Guzman had an outrageously good game as she had 31 digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matches.

Despite the loss, Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Paetyn Tamp had 15 digs and four assists. Tamp is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace will host Scripps Ranch at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Christian has already played their next contest (against Cathedral Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
