Softball Recap: Banks Starts off Right with Win over Seaside

Banks had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Seaside Seagulls with a sharp 15-2 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Braves, who suffered a 9-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Carys Holscher and Naomi Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Holscher pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Brown pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Holscher scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Brown scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Phillips, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Khloe Long was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Banks will take on St. Helens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seaside, they will challenge Mazama at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
