Softball Recap: Doniphan Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Doniphan strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Ellington Whippets get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. Considering the Dons and Donettes have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mac Jackson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Doniphan got a massive performance out of Kenzie Taylor, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenna Kirby, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs.

Doniphan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

Doniphan's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Ellington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Doniphan will venture away from home to take on Mt. Vernon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ellington, they will head out to challenge Van Buren at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
