Volleyball Recap: Stanley-Boyd Orioles vs. Barron Golden Bears

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Stanley-Boyd couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Barron Golden Bears on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

While Stanley-Boyd was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-21.

Kendall Sikora and Player #1 certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Sikora had seven digs and four aces, while Player #1 had eight digs and two assists.

Stanley-Boyd's defeat ended a 12-match streak of away wins and brought them to 41-5. As for Barron, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 32-6.

Stanley-Boyd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barron, they are taking a road trip to face off against Grantsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
