Soccer Game Preview: Marlin vs. Robinson

Marlin hasn't had much luck against Robinson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Marlin Bulldogs will challenge the Robinson Rockets at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Marlin is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Harmony Science Academy a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, on TuesdayConnally kept up with Robinson until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Robinson put the hurt on Connally with a sharp 3-0 win. Considering the Rockets have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Robinson, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Marlin, they moved to 1-6-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Everything went Marlin's way against Robinson when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Marlin made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marlin since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
