Volleyball Game Preview: South El Monte Eagles vs. Mountain View Vikings

The South El Monte Eagles will challenge the Mountain View Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South El Monte came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Southlands Christian. South El Monte's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

South El Monte took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-12, 25-21.

South El Monte's loss came about despite a quality game from Lexis Jacobo, who had 31 digs. Jacobo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Meanwhile, Mountain View came up short against The Webb Schools on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Mountain View has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. South El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
