Softball Recap: Belgrade Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Belgrade's victory against Russell wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Rustlers 1-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 on April 10th.

Not much got past Olivia Mills, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Russell off the board. Mills has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Belgrade saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailee White, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The win was the third in a row for Belgrade, bringing their record up to 10-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Russell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coming up, Belgrade will host Gallatin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Russell, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 defeat against Helena on the 29th.
