Recap: Donovan Catholic Griffins vs. Shore Regional Blue Devils
The Donovan Catholic Griffins suffered their biggest defeat since January 3rd on Monday. They suffered a tough 54-29 loss at the hands of Shore Regional. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Donovan Catholic in their matchups with Shore Regional: they've now lost three in a row.
Shore Regional's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Conley Smolokoff, who scored 19 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smolokoff has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ava Coyle, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Donovan Catholic has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Shore Regional, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Donovan Catholic will square off against Howell at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shore Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
