Basketball Recap: Angel Rosario and William Soto Secure Win for Nueva Esperanza

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bodine, Nueva Esperanza was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 66-62 W over the Penn Treaty Wolves. For Nueva Esperanza, this counts as revenge for the 72-51 win Penn Treaty walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Leading Nueva Esperanza to victory were William Soto and Angel Rosario. Soto went 7 of 17 en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Rosario went 5 for 9 on his way to 18 points and five boards. Nael Cruz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Penn Treaty lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Heavon Washington, who posted 25 points. That was a full 40.3% of Penn Treaty's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Tyler Williamson-Brown was another key player, putting up 21 points.
