Basketball Recap: Winnetonka Comes Up Short

Winnetonka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a blow against the St. Teresa's Academy Stars, falling 63-21. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Stars are ranked 20th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Teresa's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Rando, who went 5-for-6 on her way to 12 points. Those 12 points gave Rando a new career-high. Nora Roddy was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 10 points.

Winnetonka's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Winnetonka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-19 win against Kearney on the 8th.
