Softball Recap: Dunmore Bucks vs. Lakeland Chiefs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mid Valley, Dunmore was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Lakeland Chiefs. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bucks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Rachel Walsh made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Walsh was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaclyn Brown, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mia Riley, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Dunmore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only posted a batting average of .259.
Dunmore's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Lakeland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunmore will head out to challenge Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bucks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Lakeland, they will venture away from home to face off against Mid Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
