In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Powers, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, C.B. Aycock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against South Johnston, falling 12-5.
Ryleigh Tortual made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
East Wake's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for C.B. Aycock, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. East Wake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like C.B.
