Softball Game Preview: Pennridge Rams vs. Central Bucks South Titans

The Pennridge Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Central Bucks South Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Pennridge had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Norristown on Friday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on four straight.

Averi Dockery was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Davies, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Gulbinski, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Pennridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Central Bucks South entered their tilt with Central Bucks West on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bucks 14-6. Considering the Titans have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Central Bucks South's record is now 10-6. As for Pennridge, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Pennridge came up short against Central Bucks South when the teams last played back in April, falling 6-2. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
