Preview: St. Paul Wildcats vs. Centura Centurions
After four games on the road, St. Paul is heading back home. They will take on the Centura Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully St. Paul focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
St. Paul suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Malcolm, falling 62-29. While losing is never fun, St. Paul can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Malcolm is ranked 34th).
The losing side was boosted by Gracie Kelley, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Centura entered their tilt with Centennial with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Centura enjoyed a cozy 54-35 win over Centennial on Saturday.
St. Paul has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Centura, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
