Softball Recap: Perkins' Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Perkins lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Columbian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Pirates put the hurt on the Tornadoes with a sharp 13-3 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their two-run performance the game before.

Perkins let Avery Baker and Hannah Koelsch run wild. Baker went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI, while Koelsch went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four runs gave Baker a new career-high. Aubrey Ransom was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

The victory snapped Perkins' losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-11 record. As for Columbian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Perkins wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-2 win against Huron on the 6th. As for Columbian, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-1 defeat against Clyde on the 7th.
