Basketball Recap: Freedom Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Freedom Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 93-34 takedown of The O'Neal School last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Freedom Christian Academy Patriots took a 93-87 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Crusaders. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost seven in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Freedom Christian Academy lost on Wednesday, don't look at Karsten Swinney. Despite the final result, he posted 38 points along with seven assists and four steals. Swinney has been hot for a while, having posted 19 or more points the last 18 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Haidyn Bell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards.

Freedom Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Trinity Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Village Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Trinity Christian will host Village Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Freedom Christian Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
