Baseball Game Preview: Milford Bearcats vs. Beecher Bobcats

The Milford Bearcats will head out on the road to challenge the Beecher Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Beecher took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Milford, who comes in off a win.

Milford proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let St. Teresa get on the board and left with a 2-0 win.

Not much got past Caleb Clutteur, who gave up just four hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep St. Teresa off the board. Clutteur has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Milford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hixon Lafond, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Beecher duked it out with Wilmington on Friday. The Bobcats came up short against the Wildcats, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Beecher now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Milford might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Beecher in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
