Softball Recap: Sacred Heart's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Sacred Heart couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Concord Pirates on Saturday, falling 7-0. The Rebels were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Pirates' pitchers proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Sacred Heart's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-6 record. As for Concord, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-7.

Sacred Heart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Concord, they will take on Taylor at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
