Mt. Rainier extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday, bumping them up to 10-4. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tahoma Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since October 16, 2024.

Joscelyne Gross paced Mt. Rainier's offense, picking up 14 kills. Gross got some help from Abby Taliloa and her 43 assists. Gross was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

As for Tahoma, they moved to 9-7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Mt. Rainier since Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Tahoma saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hayden Jeminez had 23 digs and three assists. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Jeminez. Sofia Hinkle also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mt. Rainier is set to square off against their familiar foe Auburn Riverside at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tahoma will take on rival Auburn at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
