Softball Recap: Central's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Central waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Brooks Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in March.

Chloe May made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mycah Beth Ray, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ali Thompson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Central's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Brooks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
