Football Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-20 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Charles West. If Winfield was looking for revenge after losing 28-13 to St. Charles West when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for St. Charles West, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Winfield will challenge rival St. Charles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Charles West is set to face off against their familiar foe Holt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
