Football Recap: Lake Park's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Lake Park came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 41-35 W over the St. Charles East Fighting Saints on Friday. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 27-21 victory the Fighting Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Lake Park had a senior duo take command as Niko Menos picked up 214 receiving yards and three scores and Kendan Ratini rushed for 143 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 214 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Menos.

Lake Park's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for St. Charles East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Lake Park and St. Charles East could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Lancers (ranked 112th) will meet Wheaton-Warrenville South (ranked 32nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Charles East will challenge Batavia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (140 vs. 12).
