Recap: Arcata Tigers vs. Miramonte Matadors
While it was all tied up 30-30 at halftime, the Arcata Tigers were not quite the Miramonte Matadors's equal in the second half on Saturday. Arcata fell 57-49 to Miramonte. While losing is never fun, Arcata can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Miramonte is ranked 193rd).
Miramonte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcus Robinson, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. The match was Robinson's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Chase Miller was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Arcata's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Miramonte, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Arcata will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Fortuna at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Miramonte and Galileo will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
